Keeping It SIMPLE: My Review of My Go-to Beauty Brand

I don’t care what anyone says. When your skin is clear and healthy, your confidence and self-esteem is elevated. No matter what outfit I choose to wear, what hair style I’m rocking or what accessory I am wearing. I do not feel my best when my skin has broken out. As someone who battled with teenage acne on my T-Zone area for most if not all of my teenaged years. I know what negative effect it had on how I felt about myself. I also know, what it did for me when I managed to gain more of an understanding about the importance of using the right products to support my skin type and when I learned what ingredients were good for what; and what I should choose to avoid.

Of course, the food and the drinks you consume is just as paramount when it comes to having good skin but I know for a fact that time and time again, Simple face products have helped me to manage my oily skin and have been instrumental in helping me get my confidence back.

This is not a sponsored post and I am not being paid to share my views. I have been an avid user of Simple face products; on and off for over 15 years (yes you read that right!). Here are just a few of the products I use and highly recommend.

Simple Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water

Have you honestly washed your face if you haven’t used micellar water? My face just doesn’t feel clean without using this. Of course, all simple’s products are free from perfume, colours and harsh chemicals and therefore make them perfect for sensitive skin. Since 95% of our bodies are made up of water, adding products that ware water rich is amazing for the skin. This product is not drying and although is specifically for individuals with dehydrated , dry or sensitive skin. I find it helps to manage the oil on my face and is perfect for taking off heavy makeup on the face and eyes.

BEAUTY TIP: For really stubborn make-up like Mascara and eye liner, mix some of this with almond oil and lightly rub away the make-up from your eyes and watch it wash away with ease.

Your skin feels really clean afterwards and is a perfect product to use in between washes if you haven’t got the time to complete a full routine but need your face to feel completely cleansed.

Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion

It is really important to Cleanse, Tone and Exfoliate. However, I find with exfoliation, it is best to not do this every single day as the circular motion of the granules on oily skin, tends to generate more oil, so try and do this 2-3 times a week only. For cleanser’s, this one is a certified winner. Not oily and doesn’t leave a build-up on the face, it really has a way of cutting through dirt and grime. I tend to use it along with a face wash because my face is so oily but if yours is not, this along with the Toner mentioned above is the perfect combination.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

This products says it offers 12 hours of moisturisation and it honestly does that. As much as I have oily skin, I am not looking to welcome wrinkles onto my face any time soon, and tend to lather on the cream at night-time adding a few drops of almond or vitamin C oil (this will be going into another post) so my skin can take it all in as I sleep. This cream doesn’t clump or leave any residue behind so it works pretty well under most of my foundations too. What’s even better about this cream is that is can be applied for both evenings and day time. For best results, use after you have washed, cleansed and toned and make sure to apply with circular and upward strokes. Never drag the skin down!.

Simple Regeneration Age Resisting Facial Wash

Listen ladies, as I have said on many of my Instagram posts, I take my skincare much more seriously now since I turned 30. I now have laughter lines (my mum told me to stop smiling so widely) and I am currently trying out different creams to see what will help with that (again this will be reviewed in another post in due course) but in addition to great face cream, it is equally important to purchase a facewash that is made to help prevent premature aging. Simple have this fantastic regeneration age resisting facial wash that includes the key ingredient green tea. I am already a massive green tea lover and drink two cups of it a day!

This facial wash is excellent because it includes Pro-vitamin B5 which helps keep your skin supple and improves elasticity, mushroom extract, oat extract, shea butter and chamomile oil. All of these amazing ingredients work in combination to help remove all impurities from the skin leaving it feeling really clean but never dried out.

Simple SOS Clearing Booster Anti-blemish, Anti-shine Daily Skin Detox

This product is my latest addition to the simple family and I honestly cannot get enough of it. The SOS clearing booster is used after washing and cleansing the face and before you put moisturiser on and is perfect for minimising pimples as well as helping to control oil build up on the T-zone. I use this just before I put on make-up and it is the perfect primer and leaves my face feeling matte so works perfectly under my foundation. A winner through and through.

I buy all of my Simple face products from Superdrugs. All of Simple’s products are hugely affordable and there are so many other products to try out from their collection.
