The Neon Trend

The Neon Trend

I’ve always said that I don’t like to follow trends and instead tend to wear whatever I like at the time. However, from the moment I saw the neon trend on the international catwalks I knew it was a look that I had to get into. Neon is the perfect colour as it can be successfully teamed with a number of colour and style variations. I noted that most bloggers were wearing neon with black leather or PVC pants and to be honest; although I would usually go for this option too. I can’t help but feel that there is an element of this being a look that is playing it too safe.

You can easily go wrong with denim and neon and when you pair the two together. In this case; it’s important that you choose a colour of denim that is not too dark or too light.

I recently collaborated with the fashion brand Fredafunk  and was sent some amazing pieces; with these distressed denim jeans being one of the standout pieces. I have recently put on a bit of weight (don’t judge me guys, winter is an absolute killer for me) and it was important that I received a pair of jeans that not only complimented my newly found curves but also was comfortable to wear.

These high waisted jeans are not only comfortable but go perfectly with the neon jumper that I received from Femme Luxe Finery.

To build a complete look and outfit inspo, I added these amazing heels from @egoofficial; the shoe brand which is not only a certified blogger favourite but my one stop online for on trend and affordable shoes. The Perspex heels really added a touch of femininity to the look.

Another key feature to this look is my staple leather and suede tassel jacket which if you’re a frequent visitor to will know is a classic piece that I cannot stop returning to. Purchased in H&M when I was visited Vienna, this jacket helps to dress up the look even more and is a perfect transitional piece from day to night.

When it comes to creating looks for you, I’ve made a conscious effort to put a COMPLETE look together including accessories and a bag that can pull the entire look together. My bank balance was pretty tight this month as I had to upgrade my car but that didn’t stop me from visiting my favourite online shoe store Ego official and grabbing a pair of their perspex stiletto heel shoes. Prints are still very much hot property this season so I added my black faux leather and snake skin print clutch from Primark. Unfortunately, I cannot link it as it’s an oldie but I’ve found an equally stunning snake print bag HERE . My rings are the only rings I own and they’re from Primark also. Have you been into the neon trend? I’d love to find out what you think about how I styled it.
