There is something very special about walking into your hotel room for the first time and instantly knowing that you are going to love staying there.
That was exactly how I felt when I opened the door to my bedroom at Stella Blue in Crete.
After already being completely taken by the beautiful surroundings, calming aesthetics and overall atmosphere of the resort, I remember wondering whether the room would live up to everything I had seen outside.
It absolutely did.
In fact, my bedroom became another part of the Stella Blue experience that made this holiday feel so elevated.

First impressions: warm, calm and beautifully designed
The first thing that stood out to me was the colour palette.
Everything felt warm, natural and incredibly calming.
Stella Blue has this beautiful way of using earthy tones throughout the resort, and that same design language continued into my bedroom. Soft neutrals, natural textures, warm woods and understated details created a space that felt luxurious without being overly extravagant.
It was stylish, but still comfortable.
Beautiful, but still liveable.
And most importantly, it immediately felt peaceful.
That sense of calm became something I really appreciated throughout my stay.

The four-poster bed was the main character
Of course, I have to talk about the bed.
The four-poster bed instantly gave the room that extra sense of luxury.
It was simple, elegant and beautifully styled, but it also completely transformed the room visually.
There is something about a four-poster bed that immediately makes a hotel bedroom feel more special, and this one fitted perfectly with the understated Mediterranean aesthetic running throughout Stella Blue.
It became the focal point of the room without feeling excessive.
And after long days enjoying the sunshine, exploring Crete, eating incredible food and making the most of the hotel, returning to that bed genuinely felt like a treat.

A bedroom that encouraged you to slow down
One of the things I loved most about my room was that it wasn’t simply somewhere to sleep.
It felt like a little sanctuary.
There are hotel rooms where you drop your bags, get dressed and immediately want to leave.
This wasn’t one of them.
I actually enjoyed spending time in my room.
Whether I was getting ready for dinner, relaxing after being in the sun, working on my brands for a little while or simply taking a moment to myself, the room felt like somewhere I could properly switch off.
And that became such an important part of this trip.
This holiday was about slowing down.
It was about allowing myself to enjoy where I was rather than constantly thinking about what I needed to do next.
And having a room that felt calm, beautiful and comfortable supported that feeling completely.

The details made the difference
What I noticed throughout Stella Blue was how considered everything felt.
The interiors never seemed thrown together.
The natural textures, furniture choices and neutral colour palette worked together beautifully and gave the entire space a cohesive feel.
Nothing felt loud.
Nothing felt overly designed.
It was quiet luxury.
And that is probably the best way I can describe my bedroom.
There was an elegance to it that didn’t need to scream for attention.
It simply felt good to be there.

Four-star hotel, five-star energy
I have already said throughout this series that Stella Blue surprised me because, although it is officially a four-star resort, my experience consistently felt more elevated.
My bedroom reinforced that feeling.
From the presentation to the cleanliness, the styling and the overall atmosphere, there was nothing about the room that felt basic.
It felt considered.
It felt luxurious.
And it felt completely aligned with the experience Stella Blue was offering throughout the rest of the hotel.
That is why I keep coming back to the same phrase:
Four-star hotel. Five-star energy.

My little home in Crete
Perhaps what I loved most was that the bedroom started to feel like my little home away from home.
When you have spent the day by the pool, walking around in the sunshine, eating good food or exploring somewhere new, there is something lovely about knowing you have a beautiful space waiting for you at the end of it.
I would walk back into my room and immediately feel relaxed.
Shoes off.
Bag down.
Air conditioning on.
And suddenly, I was back in my own little Stella Blue bubble.
It became part of the daily rhythm of my holiday.
And looking back now, those quieter moments were just as important as the bigger experiences.
More than somewhere to sleep
What I am realising as I continue sharing my Stella Blue Diaries is that the hotel worked so well for me because every part of the experience complemented the next.
The beautiful grounds made me want to explore.
The breakfasts made mornings feel luxurious.
The service made me feel cared for.
And the bedroom gave me somewhere calm and beautiful to return to.
It all worked together.
And that is what makes a hotel stay memorable.
A beautiful room alone isn’t enough.
But when the room becomes part of a wider experience that makes you feel rested, inspired and completely removed from your normal routine, that is when a holiday starts to feel special.
My bedroom at Stella Blue gave me exactly that.
It gave me comfort.
It gave me tranquillity.
It gave me beautiful surroundings.
And most importantly, it gave me another reason to slow down and enjoy being exactly where I was.
Would I stay here again?
Absolutely.
When I think about Stella Blue now, I don’t just remember the pools or the sunshine.
I remember how the entire resort made me feel.
And my bedroom was a huge part of that.
It was stylish without being uncomfortable, luxurious without being intimidating and peaceful without feeling empty.
It was everything I wanted from a holiday bedroom and more.
Another beautiful chapter in a trip that genuinely gave me the reset I needed.
The Stella Blue Diaries continue…
There is still so much more of Crete to share.
