There are some places you arrive at and immediately think, this is nice.
Then there are places that make you stop.
Places that change your energy before you have even unpacked your suitcase.
Stella Blue in Crete was that place for me.
From the moment I arrived, my first thought was simple: this feels like heaven on Earth.
I know that sounds dramatic, but sometimes a hotel is so much more than somewhere you sleep. Sometimes the surroundings, the atmosphere and the timing all come together in exactly the way you need them to.
And that was Stella Blue.
Located in Analipsis, Stella Blue is officially a four star seaside resort, but from my very first walk around the hotel, it felt elevated far beyond what I expected. The resort describes itself as a peaceful beach retreat, with beautifully designed rooms, pools, dining spaces, bars and wellness facilities just steps from the beach.
But specifications alone cannot really explain how this place feels.
First impressions: this does not feel four star
I remember looking around and thinking:
How is this four star?
Because visually, Stella Blue gave me everything I associate with a five star escape.
The design was clean without feeling clinical.
Luxurious without trying too hard.
The earthy colour palette instantly made everything feel calm. Natural woods, warm neutral shades, beautiful furniture, greenery, open spaces and views filled with blue skies and palm trees created this effortless Mediterranean aesthetic.
Everywhere I looked seemed considered.
Even the lounge areas felt like somewhere you wanted to sit simply because they were beautiful.
And then there were the pools.
Seeing that stretch of blue water surrounded by loungers, palms and sunshine genuinely gave me one of those is this actually my life right now? moments.
Stella Blue calls itself a “seafront oasis”, and standing there for the first time, I completely understood why.

An oasis from real life
But what struck me most wasn’t simply how beautiful it was.
It was how quickly I felt myself relax.
There are times when you go away physically, but mentally you never really leave home.
You are still thinking about responsibilities.
Deadlines.
Money.
Work.
What needs fixing.
What you should be doing next.
Stella Blue felt different.
It gave me somewhere to mentally disappear for a little while.
The blue skies, the warmth, the beach setting, the beautiful grounds and the slower pace created this feeling that whatever was happening outside of that resort could wait.
For those few days, I could simply be.
And I needed that more than I realised.

The first holiday where I actually felt like I had been on holiday
This may have been the biggest revelation of the entire trip.
I have travelled before.
I have stayed in beautiful places before.
I have taken breaks before.
But Crete was one of the first times I returned home and genuinely felt:
I went on holiday.
Not just travelled.
Not just created content somewhere prettier.
Not just changed location.
I rested.
I sunbathed.
I ate well.
I admired my surroundings.
I worked on my brands when I actually wanted to work, rather than because I felt pressured to.
I allowed myself to think.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, something shifted.

Stella Blue made me feel elevated
There was something about being in that environment that made me think differently about my life.
Sometimes we become so accustomed to our normal surroundings that we don’t even realise how much they influence the way we think.
Then you step somewhere new.
Somewhere beautiful.
Somewhere peaceful.
And suddenly you remember that life can look different.
That your days can feel different.
That you can become different.
Walking around Stella Blue made me feel like I was getting a glimpse of the level of life I wanted to create for myself.
Not because everything needs to be luxurious all the time.
But because I realised how much I value beauty, peace, freedom, creativity, good food, inspiring surroundings and having control over my time.
I felt elevated there.
I felt inspired.
I felt like I had stepped into another level of myself.
And rather than making me want to escape my real life, strangely, it made me want to go home and build a better one.
Sometimes you need to leave your normal life to see it clearly
That is what Crete gave me.
Perspective.
Away from routine, I could think about what was working.
What wasn’t.
What I wanted more of.
What I was ready to leave behind.
And what I wanted the next chapter of my life to look like.
Stella Blue became the backdrop for so many of those thoughts.
There were moments sitting in the sunshine where I wasn’t trying to solve everything.
I was simply allowing new ideas to come.
And they did.
For me, this holiday became part rest, part inspiration and part personal reset.
More than a hotel review
So as I continue sharing my Stella Blue Diaries, I want this series to be about more than showing you a nice hotel.
Of course, we’re going to talk about the rooms.
The food.
The incredible breakfasts.
The pools.
The surrounding areas.
The restaurants.
The beach.
And, importantly, the customer service.
But I also want to capture what it actually felt like to be there.
Because that’s the part photographs can’t always show.
Stella Blue is officially four star accommodation, but my experience felt far more elevated than the number beside its name.
For me, it was an oasis.
A reset.
A moment to breathe.
A place that helped me forget about my problems for a while and remember what I wanted my life to feel like.
And sometimes, that is exactly what a holiday is supposed to do.
Welcome to the next chapter of my Stella Blue Diaries.
Crete, you were exactly what I needed. 🇬🇷
