If you follow me on Instagram or TikTok, you’ll already know I’ve been living in these lately but I wanted to give you the full, honest breakdown here on the blog too, because when it comes to commute footwear, comfort is non-negotiable for me.
Pollyfab sent me two pieces to try: their Versatile 5D Sneaker and their sandal, and both have genuinely earned a permanent spot by my front door.
First Impressions
Straight out of the box, both pairs felt noticeably lighter than what I usually wear for the commute. No breaking-in period, no stiffness, just easy to slip on and go, which is exactly what I need on a rushed weekday morning.

What Makes Them Commute-Proof
Here’s what stood out to me after wearing them on the daily walk-tube-walk shuffle to work:
Lightweight — I genuinely forget I have them on by the afternoon. No dragging feet by the time I’m walking the last stretch to the office.
Breathable — no clammy, sweaty feet even on busier, warmer days on public transport.
Air cushioned — this is the one that’s made the biggest difference. My feet used to feel done by mid-afternoon; with these, that fatigue just isn’t there.
Quick dry — very handy for the UK’s “four seasons in one day” weather. Caught in a sudden downpour on the way to the station? Not a problem.
Flexible with an ergonomic fit — they move with my foot rather than fighting against it, which makes a real difference over a full day of walking, standing, and commuting.

Sneaker vs Sandal — Which One’s for You?
The 5D Sneaker is my pick for the full commute; tube, bus, walking, all of it. It’s supportive enough for a longer journey but still feels like a trainer, not a boot.
The sandal has become my go-to for the shorter, warmer-weather stretches of my commute, or for days when I want my feet to breathe a bit more. Still just as cushioned, just a lighter feel overall.
Final Thoughts
If your commute involves any real distance; walking to the station, standing on a packed train, the last dash into work comfort makes or breaks your morning. These have made mine noticeably easier, and I’ll be reaching for both on rotation.
