Fighting Back In Red

Guys, I’m going to get straight to the point. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you will know that I have been dealing with harassment from my neighbour and previously her partner for 4 years. I have wrestled with the idea of keeping this matter private. But, I recognise now more than ever that when you have built up a platform over a number of years you shouldn’t have to remain silent on issues that have affected your life. (Let me just warn you now this may be a long post but it’s without a doubt a necessary and overdue one.)

One thing I will let each and everyone of you know is jealousy and envy is a nasty characteristic to possess. It can and will destroy you and will bring out every bit of its nastiness to the fore. I will also let you know one thing I have learned during this process; you DO NOT have to do anything to a person for them to hate on you. It could simply be that you are living, striving and working hard and they don’t like that or they are jealous of how you look, the friends and/or relationships you forge and the things you own. In my experience, the hate I have received from this ‘person’ is and has always been based upon an accumulation of all these things.

I have lived in my current home for over 20 years, it has been a place where I progressed through my formative years in secondary school, four years of college and three years of university.  I started my relationship which went on for 15 years, then broke up for 4 and rekindled it again this year all while living in this house. I had also started my award winning magazine in the four walls of my living room and ran it for 8 years too. I started blogging and developing my career as a life and career coach all within this house. Having supported my mother and paying the rent within this property, I have always had the right to reside within this house with respect and dignity. However, with the moving in of the person next door, I have not had the opportunity to live in peace for four years and sadly this house no longer feels like my home.

This is in fact the current state of society at the moment. Individuals who in no shape or form contribute positively to society, drain the financial system and do not embark on a path of developing themselves whether it be professionally or personally are given free reign to insight hate and personal bitterness to individuals who endlessly strive to improve their lives and the lives of others. They are given a roof over their heads where they hide behind their walls and hurl abuse, make up lies and propaganda about decent members of society, shout abuse and profanity to not only you but their own mother. All while convincing themselves you tried to cheat with their man when you would never in a million miles touch anything that had made the mistake of touching them.

Because you see guys, I am choosing no longer to sit silent and allow this bug to affect my life and my success any longer. From trying to harrass me with hours of loud music almost every night to slamming every door within their house to cause stress to my family. I want to make it very clear that I am a woman who has always taken the hate of others and used it as my fuel to reach that much further. Those who are consumed by hate and do not have the good sense to improve their lot in life, do not and will not progress. They will continually look outside of themselves for people to blame for their sorry existence because they are too afraid to try and create a life for themselves.

It had been extremely disappointing that Peabody Housing have done very little to support our case, even with our housing officer trying to insinuate that it was a ‘mutual harassment’ case. Is is because I am black? not one to throw the race card but in this case and from all I’ve seen. I throw it right up into the sky. As I can’t help but think that if I was Caucasian, this wouldn’t be the case.

I have the right to stick up for myself and after being called names like SLUT, NASTY and BITCH. I will not sit there and remain silent. My mother never raised no fool and she sure didn’t raise a woman who would lay down and become any man or woman’s doormat.

So what do I do?

At the moment, I’m continuing to build my case and using this entire experience as a catalyst for positive change. I’m exercising more, I’m considering really giving YouTube a go, I’m giving more time to my business ventures and I am pushing my skills as a career and life coach. What I’m trying to say is that if any of you are going through some form of harassment or abuse you have two options. You can either become their victim and allow them to take control of your life or you can put two fingers up and use their hate to motivate you. I’m committed to going HARDER than I’ve ever done before. If it wants a reason to hate, I’m going to create one reason after another for them to do so until I elevate myself and my family and move somewhere where decency reigns supreme. Watch this space.

About this outfit….

So I’m back in red, the colour I fell out of love with a number of years ago. Why you ask? well I honestly don’t know. Look how I glow when I wear it! I’m once again extremely grateful to FemmeLuxe for allowing me to become apart of their blogger network and gifting me with beautiful items. I will be starting to share my top fashion picks from the FemmeLuxe site soon so do make sure you subscribe to this blog for updates.

I’m wearing the size 12/14 as I have quite a booty if you didn’t know! My heels are from Ego Official, my perspex clutch is from Ebay and my rings are from Primark. Also look out for my post on my amazing white watch from Simply Watch Me.

If anything in this post resonates with you, I’d love to receive your feedback. Until the next one.

Thank you for stopping by.

Sasha Shantel X Love Leggings #LiveInLove

I hadn’t heard of this brand before they reached out to me for a collaboration. But I can honestly say that I was missing out as I have never worn a pair of jeans so comfortable; and I mean NEVER! I practically shot this look then returned home and wore it at home too. That’s the kind of comfortable I am referring to.

Orange Is The Colour

I’ve never ever purchased an orange blazer before. In fact; I don’t really own much orange clothing. But there is something really amazing about this orange blazer. I have your typical black and blue blazers, I also own yellow and green blazers, but nothing beats my new fave. I had already planned my all white ensemble and knew that the blazer would make it a LOOK. But, I honestly was not ready for this.

Stunting In My Green Shein Suit

Don’t I honestly look like a Jazz musician in this suit? lol; but I absolutely love it! I really wanted to try something a LOT different from my norm. Fashion is about pushing boundaries and not always sticking to your comfort zone. This suit couldn’t be further from my comfort zone. A bright green, not tight fitting suit teamed with big black boots. I never felt so free in this easy and effortless look.
