One thing I will say to each and everyone of you is that comparison is the biggest thief of joy. I spent too many years looking at other people and what they had that I stopped investing in myself and what made me who I was. We’re all born with talents that are unique to us and we all have our own story to write. Hold onto your pen with a firm grip and take the rough with the smooth. Don’t be concerned about your mistakes or what has come and gone. Focus on where you are now and where you’re heading.
I’ve been working on a few things over the last few months and just to give you guys an update; here’s 5 things which are taking place in my life right now…. I’d love to hear from you about the things you’re working on right now. I have plans to write a few more posts before the year is out but thank you to each and everyone of you who reads and supports my blogging journey. I appreciate you.
- Launch of my female empowerment brand ‘Women Who Slay’
After closing In-spire LS I took time to think about what I really wanted to do. I didn’t want to throw myself into another project just because I needed to look busy or have something to do. Working alongside my mother, we have created a phenomenal brand called Women Who Slay- a brand that supports go-getting dreamers and women like me who want to live their best lives. I’m passionate about helping women and have supported women for years in my day to day work. As part of this, I’m training to become a life coach. I’m so happy that I have established my path and am taking the necessary steps to build a life I’m proud of. We have our launch event on March 2019- get your tickets here. (Sorry guys this is for women only but down the line I will be offering coaching sessions for men also). I’m ultra proud as I built the site myself using Wix.com and I’m thrilled with the results. Please do have a look and give it some love.
2. I’m writing my first book
Yes, I’ve actually committed to this project and I’m making strides! It took a while to figure out what I wanted to write and after starting and stopping a number of projects, I finally planned a book that I’m passionate about and it’s on track to be completed my the end of Spring 2019 so watch this space! It’s going to be a personal development/coaching book that both women and men can benefit from.
3. I’m preparing to give up meat
So guys, I’m not going fully vegan; it isn’t for me (just yet) but a number of years ago I went pesatarian for over a year and not only did I lose a ton of weight but I also had more energy, I lost weight and found it easier to tone up when exercising and I found my attention span and overall mood was heightened. Most vitally for me, I had clear skin which is a major for me as I have been battling issues with acne for a number of months. I’m excited to see what health benefits I will be seeing during this process and I will be sharing it with you on sashashantel.com.
4. I’ve found my niche
I have wanted this blog to represent something in particular for a very long time and although it does focus on all areas of lifestyle. It was important for me to give the site more direction. I have always been passionate about affordable fashion and dressing on a budget. Of course, I wouldn’t pass up a designer bag but I think it takes a particular eye to know what will look good without breaking the bank. I will be focusing on affordable fashion and styling tips in 2019 and will be filming more for this so I may become a YouTuber after all.
5. My goals are set
I have new fitness and eating goals as well as goals like reading more, watching new programs and listening to more podcasts. I have a few destinations I want to visit and I am working towards being debt free by April 2020. I’m starting to finally get on top of my life and I’m extremely excited about everything I’m developing. Life is for creating and for discovery and I’m more than ready for it.
About this look
I have received three new outfits to blog over the next few weeks and I have new hair too which you can see more of on my Instagram page. However, I have fallen behind blogging about the outfits I wore on my recent trip to Malta. I made sure to shoot some great looks and every outfit I shot was affordable and of top quality. I absolutely loved this floral dress from Missguided but instead of buying it from their online store, I headed down to my favourite market ‘Roman Road’ in East London and picked it up for £7! Yes you read that right. Markets are our hidden treasure and it’s so important that we as fashion lovers use them and keep them alive. I love the Hair by Sleek which I picked up for £32.99. I teamed it with a firm favourite- my perspex heels from Ego Official. They go with everything and compliment every look.
