I am approaching my 31st birthday on Sunday and for me, this is a landmark age. Most people would believe that 30 is the landmark age; the one for the major cause for celebration. However, my 30th year was one filled with mental and physical stress, anxiety and a life changing incident that altered my life. (As I knew it forever)
What’s so powerful about this period of time is that I learned to understand, value and TRULY appreciate myself. I recognised my flaws but I also; once and for realised that life truly is about the journey, not the destination. The journey of self discovery has been my most exciting yet and with clear goals for the future and all that I am working to achieve, I am grateful that I have been able to truly work on myself.
With working on yourself often comes a need for change and that is exactly what I have implemented over the past few months. I am embarking on a new juice fast which we help me to restore my health on a physical level. I am also developing a new jogging program to commence soon. I have began to de-clutter my immediate environment so I can begin to blog and video more and I also made the decision to change my room.
I am the most blessed young woman ever as my mum is a self taught decorator, she assembled all my furniture, sanded and filled the holes in my walls and changed my room from a meadow green to white! The result… amazing. She has created my sanctuary, a place where I can work on my writing, maintain my websites and study. The colours are soothing and relaxing and the overall look is clean and rejuvenated.
My room is now a reflection of what I am working on creating on the inside and I am thrilled with the results. The room is not completely done yet but the aim is for me to relaunch my vlog with a room tour and general chit chat about my landmark birthday so make sure you subscribe to Youtube.com/SashaShantelUK
As far as the decor goes, my chest of drawers and bedside table are from Ikea- the general go-to destination for interior conscious men and women everywhere and are from the Malm series. Both were affordable are still available online and in store.
My gorgeous bed is from Groupon and allows you to store clothing and other items inside. It only cost me £120 and is honestly one of the best furniture buys I have ever made.
My grey fluffy rug at the side of my bed is from Poundstretchers and was recently reduced from £13.99 to £9.99 and my two fluffy white rugs are from Ikea and only cost £10.00 each!
Once my space is completely down I will share the rest via video. 😉
