Let me just put it out there, I love Italian food but after trying Italian street food for the first time; I now love it more! I honestly love eating in places where the customer service is as good as the food.
I spend a lot of time in Essex and the surrounding areas for my magazine and just so happened to be in the area of Westcliff on Sea when my COO recommended that my mum and I try Italian street food.
Now when I think of Italian food I often reminisce on dishes of seafood linguine and lasagna. However, I was open to trying something a little different.
On entering Pasta Pia, we were immediately greeted with the perfect chorus of hello’s (said in Italian obviously). The welcome was a warm one and I immediately felt comfortable and at ease. The eatery itself was tiny in size but that didn’t take away from the overall experience.
I was hugely impressed by the menu which offered a wide array of pizza’s, breads and lasagnas.
On this flying visit, I was encouraged to try a pasta dish with sauce. I opted for penne pasta with Aglio Olio Garlic, Extra virgin Olive Oil & Chilli.
This was too much, the lingering after taste was so tasty and left me wanting more.
If you’re ever in the Essex and want a quick bite to eat, I would definitely recommend Pasta Pia; you will not be disappointed.
