Gosh this post is very late, like extremely late. So late that one of my friends and fellow writers Ebony has written a review of a different branch of Las Iguanas. However, I had to share these scrumptious pictures from my phone. It would be rude not to!
This was the first time I had ever eaten at this restaurant but I had walked by it many times and had plans to venture inside. However, the opportunity never came. Then, one of my great friends Philip asked me to dinner for a catch up and having walked around the O2 for what felt like an eternity, we stepped inside Las Iguanas.
I absolutely love the decor of the place as we chose to eat outside and it was designed as if you were sitting outside when you actually were in! (Yeah I know, confusing) but the vibe was relaxed and the chairs were pretty comfortable. When eating out, I try to have a starter, a main and a dessert. However, on this occasion I wasn’t feeling that hungry and opted to have just a starter and a main.
Although I shouldn’t have because apparently I have allergies; I opted for a prawn starter with bread and Philly chose the most succulent wings I had ever seen. They were dripping with BBQ sauce and tasted so good. (I know because I had one or maybe two and they were large in size.)
My prawns were pretty strong and had a major kick to it (I coughed a few times) however, they were really nice and left a nice aftertaste.
For my main I had a sticky chicken and chips combo which was too good, the chicken was cooked just right and was seasoned to perfection also. Philly opted for a rack of ribs and sweet potato chips which were okay but a little burnt.
The service was exceptional. Our waitress was lovely and really attentive to our needs. She was funny too ( You know those waitresses and waiters who tell jokes and are not funny or they just hang about talking complete and utter nonsense just to get a tip. She wasn’t that!)
I’m not particularly sure what I preferred most, the food or the company as both were brilliant. But as your probably won’t get my particular friend; head down to the 02 and grab yourself a piece of Las Iguana’s action. You will not be disappointed.
