I won’t lie, yesterday I was not feeling my happiest or most motivated. The main reason for this is my disappointment in the people I have around me. This seems like a major statement and it is. If I could just wipe the slate clean and move away from all I knew now; I would. I don’t know if anything is worse than believing in people and they prove you wrong, they leave you feeling as if you and what you’re working for is not important enough and as much as that’s OK; it doesn’t make it any less difficult. Then there are those who I feel have acted like everything they have done for me has been to benefit me when actually it benefited them. I think we’ve all been there with that one.
As a result, I’ve allowed individuals outside of myself to leave me feeling deflated and I for one know I’m worth and deserve more than this. Sometimes you have to be the voice of reason in your life. You need to listen to yourself and motivate and empower yourself. It’s so easy to allow your mood to be affected by others outside of yourself. Don’t let them though, you deserve better and that’s all you need to focus on. I have become much more better at talking myself up and picking myself up when fall. I’m that positive voice of reason that tells me everything will be better if I maintain the faith I have in myself. So instead of wallowing in a low mood, I’ve got up with the purpose of writing, blogging and having a positive and productive Sunday.
Last week, I had the pleasure of fulfilling one of the joint goals I had with my mother. We had wanted to visit Santorini for years (well ever since we saw the white buildings with the blue tops on Pinterest) And at the start of June we did!
Greece is such a beautiful country and I was left blown away by the blueness of the sky and sea and the intricate architecture. I was lucky enough to stay at the phenomenal Mediterranean White Hotel in Thira. I will be sharing a gallery of stunning imagery on SashaShantel.com and will also be sharing a detailed review of my overall experience on In-spireLSMagazine.co.uk. However, in the meantime I want to share with you a series of shoots that I did at the hotel pool and surrounding areas.
It would have been wrong to visit such a beautiful country and not shoot some looks. I purchased some amazing swimwear pieces and captured them in all my glory. I will be honest, I was very subjective when it came to the images as within days of eating (I went all inclusive) I put on a LOT of weight on my hips and thighs. Instead of making a big deal of it, I embraced my curves and had fun with it and the finished images were amazing.
The beautiful backdrops really helped to enhance these images so keep visiting the blog for 5 looks I shot on location.
About my outfit
I have become slightly obsessed with Ebay of late and tend to go on there with the intention of visiting and purchasing one item; then proceeding to fill my basket with 10 items or more! I set out to find a ‘statement’ swimsuit that was simply black and white. It didn’t take me long to come across this beauty. This swimsuit it cost only £8.79! Yes it shocked me too!
I absolutely loved it from the moment I set my eyes on it. So how was the fit? To be honest, it could have been better as the swimsuit didn’t cling to my body completely and had to be tugged down a few times. Part of this I thing is due to having quite large breasts (I’m a 34 D). However, it looked exactly as it does below and was good quality.
My shades were picked up last summer in H&M. Although it is not available now, H&M are stocking a number of great alternatives all priced between £6.99- £9.99
My cuff was only £1.50 from Primark (oh I do love a bargain!)
I loved how I looked in my swimsuit and the reactions I received on my social networks. I’d love your feedback on this look and thank you for visiting. 🙂
