This is a staple in our house. It’s very tasty straight from the oven and works fab cold in a picnic with some pickle.
By all means make your own pastry, but there are very good vegan pre-made shortcrusts in every supermarket.

I love food and those of you who follow me over on the Foodie Files know that eating is one of my favourite pastimes. However, when it comes to cooking the food, I have been known to be pretty lazy in that department 🙂 However, during lockdown, I made a conscious effort to get into the kitchen and learn how to cook and I must say I have become quite a seasoned chef.

Fall is finally here and most of us are seeing more of the colour orange flooding our landscape as well as the shelves of our supermarkets.

Last week I took a week off work and I really needed it to be a good week. My last annual leave break was plagued with period pains and migraines and after what has been a stressful few months, I had high hopes for the week. You’ll be happy to hear guys that my week was AMAZING. I worked on my brands and got more clear on my direction, I spent time working from my unit at Peckham Levels for three days and I also was able to take time out to catch up with some of my life long friends. Friday night saw me catch up with the talented director and producer Jason Nwansi. We had made plans to dine at Cats Cafe Des Artistes before heading to a party after.

I’m pretty lucky to get the chance to collaborate and share my platform with some amazing and reputable individuals and brands. I know my lovelies you must be aware by now that Sasha cannot bake! However, that doesn’t mean I cannot get the experts in to offer some healthier alternatives to some of my baking favourites.

This is a really simple and delicious large cake that can be served in many different ways. You could make a large rectangular cake with a layer of ganache on top. You could also make a double layer round cake with buttercream inside and ganache on top. We have made it into a vegan black forest gateau, and it’s the perfect cake for a kids’ party 🙂

It’s a new week guys and with a very bad start to the week, I often become deflated and as a result… procrastinate. But, this time things are different. I
