When it comes to my beauty posts, I often start with the story that I have oily skin…. blah blah blah. It’ spot prone, blah, blah, blah. However, even if I do possess a little bit of fear about sounding repetitive. My oily skin is one of the most problematic areas of my life and one that I’m continually battling with. This intense heat has really put me (and my skin) to the test and I find that with just a little moisturiser, my skin still ends up dripping with sweat within minutes of applying it.
I would love to say that I’m confident without wearing concealer or any make up. However, that would be a lie and my aim with this blog is to be as transparent as possible and to provide real insight into my beauty/skincare journey. Even with my deep tan (which I’m in love with by the way) I do wear some concealer on top of my moisturiser, especially as I’m working on eradicating the dark patches under my eyes.
Anything I recommend has been used by me for a while and it really has to have had an effect on my skin for me to share anything about it.
I was sent a small tube of The POREfessional Pro Balm by Benefit from #HTBLOGGER who I’m an ambassador for (my next blog post will provide more insight into this so watch this space)!). I really made sure I used this product religiously for a fortnight and took images of my skin before after it was applied first thing and then further on into the day after returning en-route back home from work.
The POREfessional PRO balm by the reputable beauty and cosmetic brand Benefit says it will minimise the appearance of pores and fine lines and will help make up stay put.
Does it do what it said it will?
Only after 4 days of using this product after I moisturised and before I added my concealer and foundation did I realise how true to form this product is. The product itself is lightweight and is in no way heavy or leave behind unnecessary residue.
<After being applied on cleansed and moisturised skin>
<After entire day at work >
It was clear from the outset that the product is oil free as it blends and almost instantly dries into your skin, but does this without causing the skin to dry out. It is silky and feels great on the skin and blends in evenly and with ease.
I also appreciate the fact that it isn’t heavily laced in harsh perfumes as I have found with other similar products that they’re too scented and often cause my skin to breakout.
The key to getting the best out of the POREfessional Pro Balm is to focus the product on the problem areas. For me, the problem area changes dependent on the weather. In the summer, I tend to struggle with breakouts on the forehead and cheek area and in the winter, my chin suffers greatly. By working the product into these problem areas, before I apply my concealer. I have found that the concealer sits better on my skin and both my concealer and my foundation (when I can bare to apply it!) stays put for the entire duration I am at work. (8 hours).
I have found that apart from applying a little bit of powder on my t-zone and cheek areas, the overall look I apply firs thing in the morning remains in tact.
I have fallen in love with the POREfessional Pro Balm and will be making the investment of purchasing a full sized tube to apply as part of my day to day and night routine. It has made a significant difference to my overall skin routine and since using it, my face has been less sticky and my makeup has remained polished.

I give the Benefit POREfessional Pro Balm an #HTBlogger 9 out of 10 stars for the overall quality of the product and the price.
