This time, I swapped glam for orange prison jumpsuits and headed straight to Alcotraz—the infamous prison-themed cocktail bar that promises drama, laughter, and a whole lot of booze. And let me tell you, it delivered.
To make it even better, I wasn’t alone. I reviewed the experience with my amazing mum, Syianne, and my best friend, Katie—and together we made one seriously mischievous trio!

Inspired by Hollywood prison flicks and a fictional crime legend, Alcotraz throws you into the bootlegging world of Clyde Cassidy, a notorious liquor smuggler who eventually gets locked up in the Alcotraz Penitentiary. But Clyde didn’t go down alone—his gang of moonshiners followed him in… and guess what? That gang now includes you.
From the second we arrived, we were treated like convicted criminals—in the most fun way possible. The guards weren’t exactly playing by the rules either. In fact, they were in on the whole thing—helping us smuggle in our booze while keeping an eye out for the Warden.
🧡 The Experience: Sip, Smuggle, Repeat
As soon as we were suited up in our iconic orange jumpsuits, the fun began. The actors pulled us into the storyline straight away, and the immersive theatre vibes were off the charts.
We were given mini missions to complete, codes to crack, and just enough chaos to keep us fully engaged. The best part? The cocktails. We were served four different drinks throughout the night—each one totally different, super tasty, and dangerously strong. My kind of line-up!
And the laughs? Non-stop. My mum Syianne got so into character (I think she’s found her calling as a prison rebel!) and Katie was cracking jokes from the first second. It made the whole experience even more unforgettable.
Oh—and we even got our police mugshots taken, because if you’re going to break the law, you might as well have some killer content for Instagram, right?

The attention to detail in Alcotraz is next-level. From the cold steel bars and dingy cell blocks to the secret corridors and smoky lighting—it really does feel like you’ve stepped into a movie set. You’re encouraged to roam around, interact with the space, and fully immerse yourself in the storyline.
It’s part escape room, part theatre, part boozy night out—and it works so well.
